Carline Pierre tragically passed away earlier this year. Ms. Pierre was a founding teaching assistant at our school. During her time with us, she worked individually with students in an inclusion class, and later, to support small group reading instruction. She was always on time and present -- missing less than five days in nine years. One of our favorite memories of Ms. Pierre occurred when her daughter, a college advisor, presented to students on Career Day. Ms. Pierre was so proud of her daughter that she submitted an absence request so that she could see her daughter's presentation in person. She, of course, did not need to be absent from work. This memory is an example of her integrity and love for her children. Ms. Pierre was beloved by her colleagues and students. She will be greatly missed.
