Promotional Criteria
IN ORDER TO MOVE ON TO THE NEXT GRADE, EACH STUDENT MUST:
Earn a 2.0 (70) or above final average in: ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, PATH, SR. Please note, the DOE requirement for passing courses is a 65 average, however students who are averaging a 65 in their classes will be severely disadvantaged in the high school application process, which is why we have defined passing as being at least a 70.
Demonstrate socio-emotional readiness for the next grade, as demonstrated by weekly LiveSchool Checks and Advisory grades.
Make two years’ growth, or reach grade-level proficiency, in: reading, math, and writing, as demonstrated by Baseline, Midline, and Endline assessments.
What are my choices if my child does not meet one or more of the promotional criteria?
My Child Can:
Attend summer school and create a portfolio of work to demonstrate readiness for the next grade. If the portfolio demonstrates readiness, then the child will be promoted.
Repeat the grade.
